Intro to Ashtanga Mysore Style 

This course is dedicated to students with no previous experience of Ashtanga or to students who would like to build their confidence to join the Mysore Classes or begin a self-practice. 

 

During the four sessions, you will be guided through basic principles of alignment and movement within the method of Ashtanga Yoga. 

You will be explained the essential aspects of the practice known as tristahna method, and guided through the breathing practice. 

You will learn Sun Salutations, the Fundamental Postures and the Mysore style approach to practice.

 

By the end of the course you will have a solid understanding of the Ashtanga yoga method and will have a short sequence memorized so you can practice confidently in the Mysore setting or on your own at home.

Session 1- Finding the purpose in the movement 


Guided practice of Surya Namaskara with modifications, followed by self-practice of Sun Salutations. 

Introduction to the three pillars of ashtanga

Introduction to backbends and finishing postures

Duration: 4 meetings 

Price: 180 SGD (120 EUR) / 4 online sessions 

Timing: Saturday, 12:00pm (GMT +8), March 25th onwards

Please Note:

* Classes will take place on ZOOM

* A digital course manual will be provided

* Please set up your yoga mat the way that it can be visible in the camera

* A pen and notepad for taking notes are most welcome 

* Don’t eat heavey meal at least 2 hours before the practice 

A minimum of 4 participants is needed for the workshop to take place.
