Intro to Ashtanga for Beginners

This course is dedicated to students with no previous experience of Ashtanga. 


During the four sessions, you will be guided through basic principles of alignment and movement within the method of Ashtanga Yoga. 

You will be explained the essential aspects of the practice known as tristahna method, and guided through the breathing practice. 

You will learn Sun Salutations, the Fundamental Postures and the Mysore style approach to practice.


By the end of the course you will have a solid understanding of the Ashtanga yoga method and will have a short sequence memorized so you can practice confidently in the Mysore setting or on your own at home. 


Session 1- Finding the purpose in the movement 

Guided practice of Surya Namaskara with modifications, followed by self-practice of Sun Salutations. 

Introduction to the three pillars of ashtanga 




Session 2 Strengthening the Foundations


Guided practice of Sun Salutations with implementation of Tristana Method

Introduction to Standing postures 





Session 3 -  Discovering The Rhythm


Self practice of Sun Salutations and standing postures 

Introduction to the purpose and practice of vinyasa. 




Session 4 -  Owning Your Practice


Self practice of standing and some of the seated postures 

Introduction to backbends and finishing postures


Upon Completion of this course a discount  (-20%) for an unlimited pass will be offered.

Please Note:

* Please bring your mat or mat towel for hygiene purposes. Please also bring a towel for adjustments.

* A pen and notepad for taking notes are most welcome 

* Don’t eat heavey meal at least 2 hours before the practice 

A minimum of 6 participants is needed for the workshop to take place.
