Arm balancing, Mobility and Strength with Marcela

We are excited to invite you to join the two upcoming workshops with a long time body-practitioner, arm-balancer and circus artist Marcela. 

 

Marcela's workshops offer unique opportunities for individuals of all levels to enhance their understanding and practice of movement.

UPPER AND LOWER BODY MOBILITY

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 24TH,

10:30AM to 12:00pm

The Mobility and Strength Workshop, open to all levels, emphasizes the improvement of overall mobility and range of motion. Marcela believes that mobility work is essential for developing movement ability and enhancing control over one's ranges of motion. Participants will learn how to approach their training to strengthen flexibility, explore new movement patterns, address weak links in range of motion, and prevent injuries. Additionally, the workshop will delve into important topics such as the definition of mobility, the differences between active/passive and dynamic/static flexibility, and the significance of strength in achieving flexibility.

 

ARM BALANCING AND INVERSIONS

SUNDAY OCTOBER 1ST,

10:30am to 12:00pm 

 

This Inversions workshop focuses primarily on handstands but also includes other arm balances such as crow, crane, and tuck planche. Participants will learn the fundamentals of handstands, including balance, shoulder mobility, wrist health, compression, and how to use the wall effectively. By the end of the workshop, attendees will have the tools to assess their posture, flexibility requirements, and strength, enabling them to train handstands efficiently.

If you have been kicking up endlessly, praying to catch a handstand, failing over and over to hold for more than 2 seconds, then this is a right place for you.

ABOUT TEACHER

Marcela, originally from Argentina, has led an adventurous life that has taken her to different parts of the world. After spending several years in Amsterdam, she made a life-changing decision to move to Singapore six years ago. It was during her time in Amsterdam that Marcela discovered her passion for aerial arts and founded her own company, where she taught and performed various aerial arts.

 

Marcela's expertise in aerial arts led her to work with circus companies across Europe, the United States, and Asia. She conducted classes and workshops on aerial arts, flexibility, and yoga, sharing her knowledge and skills with enthusiasts from different backgrounds and skill levels. Her dedication and commitment to her craft allowed her to gain valuable experience and refine her teaching methods.

 

In her pursuit of holistic wellness, Marcela decided to expand her knowledge beyond aerial arts. Last year, she completed certifications in Nutrition coaching, Flexibility, and Pre/Post natal coaching in strength training. This multidisciplinary approach to fitness and wellness reflects her genuine passion for movement and her desire to help others improve their health.

 

Marcela's personal fitness routine encompasses a diverse range of activities. She maintains a regular handstand and mobility practice, which complements her weightlifting training four times a week. This well-rounded approach allows her to develop strength, flexibility, and control over her body. Marcela understands that movement is not limited to a specific discipline but rather a way of life that can be explored and enjoyed in various forms.

 

Beyond her dedication to her own fitness journey, Marcela finds joy in sharing her knowledge with others. She believes in the power of education and aims to empower individuals to take control of their health and well-being. Whether it's through teaching classes, conducting workshops, or providing personalized coaching, Marcela is committed to helping others improve their overall physical and mental well-being.
