10th to 15th March 2023
SCROLL DOWN FOR THE NEW YEAR OFFER.
We have this great honour to invite you for a 6 day journey into the deeper layers of yoga practice with our friend and teacher Kia Naddermier.
Kia is the founder of Mysore Yoga Paris with many years of practice and experience in conducting international workshops, teacher trainings and immersions all over the world. She is a teachers' teacher.
We had the pleasure of practicing with Kia during one of our trips to Europe, and ever since we have been dreaming of inviting her to Singapore. Practicing with Kia has been for both of us a one-of-a-kind experience and we couldn't recommend it more to anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of the practice. Or maybe to re-discover the practice in a new and more meaningful way.
Details below.

NADI SHODHANA – Balancing the Pairs of Opposites
The Sushumna Nadi or the mid-line of the body is described in Tantric texts as an empty vessel, a flute played by Krsna. When Prana flows freely through the central channel, the mind settles into the breath and they become one. Entering this sanctuary within, separation and duality is dissolved and we are left with a deep sense of wholeness and interconnectedness.
Nadi Shodhana, the Intermediate series of Ashtanga Yoga is said to unite the pairs of opposites and heal all divisiveness for for this very reason.
In this in-depth Immersion we will explore how to bring the vibratory patterns of Prana and Apana into a supportive balance through breath, alignment, bhavana, bandha & mudra.
We uncover the deeper meaning of Nadi Shodhana as a way to intimacy with these subtle streams, and their influence on all layers of our being - body, breath and mind. This process of unfolding connects us to a natural openness of heart which awakens our inherent capacity for healing, wholeness and interconnectedness.
Kia will guide us through traditional Mediation & Pranayama practices in the lineage of Kaivalyadham, and take us on a dynamic and explorative journey of Nadi Shodhana, the Intermediate Series of Ashtanga Yoga.
We will unveil this transformative sequence in practice, principles, the Art of Adjustments as well as the yogic teachings underpinning its physical and energetic form.
We will approach these practices with an wholistic and inquisitive mindset, enabling us to inform and inspire our practice regardless of current experience – beginner, intermediate or advanced.
Please note that you do not need to be an Intermediate Series practitioner to join, this workshop is open for all interested practitioners with an established Ashtanga practice.

Intermediate Series Master classes - practice, principles & philosophy
Friday, Saturday & Sunday mornings (3 x 2,5hrs)
Nadi Shodhana means Purification of the Nadis. This transformational sequence combines deep back-bending, twisting, hip-opening and balancing postures. It is designed to awaken and strengthen our entire body, spine, nervous- and energy system - ultimately allowing Prana and Apana to come into a supportive balance. We will approach this sequence with an wholistic and explorative mindset. Looking at both physical and energetic alignment principles and the yogic teachings behind them, enabling you to inform and inspire your practice regardless of which series you are currently practicing.
Please note that you do not need to be an Intermediate Series practitioner to join, this workshop is open for all interested practitioners with an established Ashtanga practice.
02 Philosophy & Pranayama
Friday Evening, Sunday Afternoon (1h30)
The division between the body and mind is first healed with the breath. Hence Pranayama is considered the central aspect of any authentic Hatha yoga practice. In these sessions we will deepen our intimacy with the subtleties of breath and its significance in yogic practices and philosophy. We will explore the link between Nadi Shodhana Pranayama and the Ashtanga Intermediate Series sharing the same name.
New students will be introduced to traditional teachings of Pranayama & Kriyas, whilst those with more experience will refine and deepen their practice and understanding.
03 The Art of Adjustments - Awareness, Principles, Practice & Philosophy
Saturday Afternoon (2h15)
This session is explorative in nature and designed to support teachers as well as practitioners wishing to expand their understanding of the art of adjusting and the inner and outer form of the
Ashtanga Yoga sequence and its philosophy. Cultivation of internal and physical awareness and observation skills is the foundation for all adjustments. We pay careful attention to each individual, looking at common body patterns, helping to build an intelligent, mindful practice and relevant teaching and adjusting tools.
04 Shanti Path, Meditation & Mysore Practice
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday morning
We open our morning with traditional Peace Prayer and a guided meditation to align body, heart and mind. Kia will take us through the first standing postures together to set a common intention, before we continue into Mysore self practice at your own rhythm.
This is a wonderful opportunity to apply the teachings from the weekend in your personal practice, while receiving individual guidance from Kia to further deepen your experience.
With a sincere dedication to the growth and development of each of her students, Kia offers an including, safe and inspiring space open for personal exploration, inquiry and transformation.
All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.
05 Meditation & Satsang
Tuesday Afternoon / Evening (ca 1h45)
Satsang means exploring truth in the gathering of ones spiritual community, Sangha. This last afternoon session of the immersion, Kia will guide us in meditation as well as offer space for Satsang – discussion and inquiries around the practice and philosophy of yoga.
